1. Wash the wrought iron piece once a month to remove any dirt and grime. After washing, drying it well with a dry cloth to prevent any rusting.
2. Make sure that any scratching and chipping of the paint is immediately tended to. Wash the chipped area with soap and warm water and touch up with a rust-resistant exterior metal paint.
3. If you discover rusting, scrub it off with the finest grade steel wool scouring pad.
4. Spraying your wrought iron item with an automotive spray wax twice a year will help prevent rusting.
