“We will be drawing lotteries by the end of May,” said H.K. Javale, CEO, Mhada (Mumbai Board).
The highest number of applications has been in the economically weaker category.
About 81,977 applications have been submitted for 719 flats in Kannamwar Nagar in Vikhroli and Shailendra Nagar in Dahisar.
“Since the highest number of applications has been received for economically weaker section category, we will focus more on building these houses,” said Abhijit Singh Manhas, Mhada chairman.
In the low-income category 51,253 applications, Mhada has got 560-odd flats with the highest number of applications for houses at Kannamwar Nagar in Vikhroli.
In the middle-income category there have been 1,10,628 applications for 940-odd with the hotspot being the Prateeksha Nagar Housing Complex in Sion.
In the high-income group, 1,24,209 for 1,400-odd flats with 38,796 applications made for the Versova housing complex flats in Andheri.
An IIT or VJTI software expert will be appointed as an observer and the computer software will be sanitised before the draw, said Javale.
Meanwhile, Mhada officials said that they had not appointed any agents they have filed complaints against seven agents who posed as Mhada officials.
