Manisha Mhaiskar, the state’s Director General of Information and Publicity, will handle the city’s plans on health, open spaces and western suburbs in the Brihan-mumbai Municipal Corpora-tion.
Mhaiskar was credited for transforming the government’s information and publicity directorate from a typical government department to a modern one that even publishes an e-magazine, was among the 25 bureaucrats transferred by Chief Minister Ashok Chavan.
Mhaiskar will replace Additional Municipal Comm-issioner Kishore Gajbhiye, who has been appointed secretary in the social justice department.
Dhule collector Prajakta Lavangare will replace Mhai-skar. Mahesh Pathak, who was with Mumbai International Airport Limited, is back in government service as member secretary of Maharashtra Poll-ution Control Board.
N. Arumugam has been appointed as social development coordination principal secretary in the general administration department, woman and child welfare.
