Miley CyrusMiley Cyrus, an American pop singer, songwriter and television and film actress who rose to fame after starring as the title character in the series Hannah Montana, is again set to prove her acting skills on the big screen in the film, Last Song. The actress who stars opposite actor Liam Hemsworth speaks about her character and experience as a whole.

It’s the first major film you’ve starred. Were you nervous?

At first it was a little intimidating as it’s such a big step for me. But I was very excited. Maybe a little anxious, too, because I wanted to make sure that I portrayed Ronnie (her character in the film) as being different from Hannah Montana.

What is the movie about?
It’s about this girl, Ronnie Miller, whose parents have been separated and she’s started going down the wrong path, hanging out with the wrong friends, and probably not making the best choices. Basically it’s the story of how she finds her way to being a better person through faith, love and friendship.

How would you describe the relationship between Ronnie and Will Blakelee (character that Liam plays) ?
Ronnie and Will are from two different backgrounds. She’s a little more edgy, independent but he’s very wealthy and very much taken care of by his parents. He has it a little easier on the surface. At least, that’s what she thinks. But his life has been just as crazy as hers.

What was it like going from a character you’re so used to playing (Hannah) to something so different?
It was harder than anything else I’ve done. I have more in common with Ronnie.

Apart from working on your accent, what else did you have to learn?
I learnt piano, while Liam learnt scuba diving.
