The army on Tuesday busted a militant hideout during an operation in Kashmir's largest wildlife sanctuary, Dachigam.
"Based on specific information, the Army launched search operations in Dachhigam Reserve Forest near Srinagar. During the search a terrorist hideout was busted and a huge cache of arms and explosives were recovered," said army spokesman.
The recoveries included one AK 47 rifle, one 60mm mortar, one 7.62 mm LMG, one 303 rifle, two Chinese pistols, AK 47 ammunition 634 rounds, eight UBGL grenades, 10 Chinese grenades, 11 TNT Slabs, five detonators five radio sets, one Global Positioning System (GPS), one Sniper Sight and other war like stores.
"The hideout was a natural cave in the Dacchigam Reserve Forest and was used by terrorists to hide weapons and ammunition. The busting of this hideout is a severe blow to the militants and will effect their nefarious designs," said the spokesman.
