Militant hideout busted in Kishtwar

A joint team of Delta Force and police busted a major militant hideout at Chandali forest in Kishtwar district on Sunday and recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition.

A joint team of Delta Force and police busted a major militant hideout at Chandali forest in Kishtwar district on Sunday and recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition.

The joint operation was conducted on a specific input on the hideout of Mohd Amin alias Jehangir, known surviving terrorist of Doda region. The Chandali forest has been the stronghold of Hizbul Mujahiddin.

The huge cache of arms and war-like stores included, one AK-56 rifle, one AK-47 rifle, two 9 MM pistols, two underbarrel grenade launcher, six AK magazines, 315 rounds of AK, seven under barrel grenades launcher grenades, nine hand grenades, bes12 rounds 9 MM, and one radio set.

As per source, the cache of arms and ammunition might have been dumped by militants inside the cave to be used at an opportune time. The recovery is a major blow to the terrorist outfit. General officer commanding, Delta Force, complimented the troops who took part in the operation and commented that the recovery of this cache is in continuation of the sustained efforts by Delta Force towards dismantling of terrorists infrastructure and support base of the remnant terrorists in the Doda region.
