Militant hideouts busted in Reasi, Poonch

Two militant hideouts were, on Wednesday, busted in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi and Poonch districts from where security forces recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition, including RDX.

On a tip off, a joint team of Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and state police raided a militant hideout at Koriwala forest in Mahore sector, about 160 kms from here, in Reasi district this afternoon, a police spokesperson said.

The militants managed to escape, however, the team recovered a huge cache of ammunition including two boxes of RDX, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) weighing 3.5 kgs, one IED receiver, three detonators, 52 Pika rounds and 33 pistol rounds.

Security forces also busted another hideout at Dona Pahari area of Mendhar, 180 kms from here, in Poonch district, he said, adding the recoveries included one AK rifle with its magazine and 20 rounds, a pistol, a tape recorder and a wireless set with a battery.
