Unidentified militants hurl a powerful bomb at the private house of CPI MLA U Deben in Thoubal district.

Unidentified militants hurled a powerful bomb at the private house of CPI MLA U Deben in Thoubal district, official sources said on Monday.

However, the explosive did not explode, sources said adding, it was hurled at around 10 pm last night at his house at Wabagai Keirak.

Deben was in his official residence at Imphal during the incident.

This is the second attack on the private houses of legislators in the past four days.

On August 22, ultras exploded a powerful bomb in the private residence of Congress MLA K Meghachandra Singh at Wangkhem. No casualty was reported in that incident as Singh too was at his official residence in Imphal.

No individual or group has so far claimed any responsibility for the both the attacks.
