Militants gun down trade union leader

A trade union leader and activist of the ruling National Conference (NC) was killed by separatist guerrillas in Kashmir's Baramulla district on Sunday, police said.

A trade union leader and activist of the ruling National Conference (NC) was killed by separatist guerrillas in Kashmir's Baramulla district on Sunday, police said.

Militants shot at Gulam Nabi Khan, 45, the president of Sopore traders' federation at a market square in Sopore town, 50 km from here, a senior police officer said here.

Khan was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, he added.
