Minister hits the campaign trail

UNION MINISTER of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal made an appeal to the people of the city to vote for Congress candidate Jitendra Singh. Talking to media persons, he said of all the candidates in the fray, the Congress candidate was the best.

UNION MINISTER of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal made an appeal to the people of the city to vote for Congress candidate Jitendra Singh. Talking to media persons, he said of all the candidates in the fray, the Congress candidate was the best.

He said he was confident that the State Election Commission would ensure free and fair poll and the state machinery would also render all possible help to conduct the election.

Later, the minister addressed several public meetings at Gadiwan Tola- Buxi bazar tri section, Muthiganj, Katra and Teliarganj.

Local bodies’ election are being held in three phases in the State on October 28, 31 and November 3.

Major cities of the State, including Lucknow and Allahabad, go to the polls on October 31.
