MEMBERS OF the UP Ministerial Officers Association staged a dharna at the DIoS office on Saturday to protest against the unruly behaviour of members of the Madhyamik Sikshak Sangh (Srikant group), who ransacked the DIoS office recently.
The educaton employees also boycotted work at their respective offices in the district.
Addressing the gathering, Association leaders demanded proper security arrangements for the employees at their work place. Besides, they said that till the proper arrangement of the security was not made, they would continue their ‘Pen Down’ strike.
A proposal in this regard was also adopted which stated that the district education officers and the district administration should be informed about the existing security threat and should be requested for providing enough security at their offices, so that such incident of misbehavior with the office staff would not occur.
Association’s senior vice-president Indrajeet Sahu led the dharna and other prominent leaders who were present included DP Srivastva, Badri Prasad Mishra, RB Singh, Anand Kamla Uttam and Rajendra Bajpai.
Meanwhile, members of the Sikshak Sangh also held an emergency meeting at BNSD Inter College and it was presided over by senior vice-president Srikant Diwedi.
The leaders decided to raise their demands for removal of corrupt officials from the office of the Joint Education Director and alleged that taking advantage of their position, the officials managed the appointment their relatives. Besides, they alleged that the education officials had recruited about 50 Class IV employees after taking bribe.
The teacher leaders demanded an inquiry into the allegation leveled against the education officials.
They said to cover up their misdeeds, the education employees were putting false blame of ill treatment and attack . The leaders also decided that they would continue their drive against corrupt officers of the Education Department in the district.
Prominent teachers leaders who attended the meeting were Rajendra Prasad Tiwari, Prakash Chandra Dixit, Viajai Singh Yadav, Harinath Panday, Rajaram and SP Panday.
Meanwhile, the new DIoS Ganesh Kumar took over the charge from out going DIoS SP Diwedi here on Saturday.
According to sources the axe of transfer had fallen on the out going DIpS SP Diwedi because of his poor managing of evaluation work during the recent Board examination.
It is worth to mentioning that the principal of Government Inter College was suspended by the state education authorities for his alleged involvement in the appointment of fake evaluators for the Board examination copies.
