They alleged that three persons were riding the scooter that had hit Shiv. The police have arrested the scooter rider, Ranjeet, a resident of Sonagiri, for negligence leading to death.

Meanwhile, vehicular traffic was disrupted on the road on both sides due to the chakka jam. Officials of the district administration reached the spot and after much persuasion the demonstrators left the spot.

The demonstrators were demanding a compensation of Rs 10 lakh. They accused the scooter-rider of being responsible for Shiv’s death and demanding that a case of intentional killing be registered. The deceased is survived by his wife and two children.
