It's been a couple of years since we've been hearing about Mithun Chakraborty's son, Mimoh, and his mega launch.

However, his debut film is yet to see the light of the day Mimoh told HT Café recent ly that Jimmy, directed by Raj Sippy, would flag off his career.

Meanwhile, Suniel Shetty's production house, Popcorn Entertainment, has signed him for a crime comedy titled Loot.. and suddenly, that was his big break.

The latest is that producer Salim Akhtar has resolved to release his film The Murderer on January 25. It will be Mimoh's maiden release.. and he isn't too happy about it. A source informs us that Mimoh is refusing to promote the film.

Akhtar insists that he's going ahead with the release irrespective of anything. "Today, films are driven by hype and an aggressive publicity campaign. I'll speak to Mimoh when the time is right," he says.

Disconnected
On being asked if he has spoken to Mimoh, he replies, "My staff did try to get in touch with him but he hasn't responded. He's presently in Goa for a shoot. Once he returns, I'll have word with him."

When told about Mimoh's statement that Jimmy would be his debut, Akhtar counters, "He'll make his debut with my film. There's no question of anyone else launching him."

Akhtar refutes the rumor in trade circles that his film is still incomplete.

"Would I release an incomplete film? Everything from shooting to dubbing and even the post production is over," he asserts.
