india Updated: Jul 22, 2006 01:28 IST

The Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha was today adjourned ahead of schedule to enable the members to attend the funeral of Congress Legislature Party’s permanent secretary, Virendra Tiwari, who died here last night.

The question hour was over in less than half an hour with only 18 questions being taken up in two rounds. After the question hour, Leader of Opposition, Jamuna Devi sought adjournment of the sitting and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also gave his consent.

Paying homage to departed soul, the Chief Minister said though Tiwari was not a member of the house per se, he was a member of the family by virtue of his association with the Assembly as CLP permanent secretary.
