india Updated: Oct 10, 2010 20:33 IST

Promising to transform the cities of Kalyan and Dombivli if voted to power in the forthcoming civic polls in Thane, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena on Sunday announced the names of 100 of its candidates.

MNS Chief Raj Thackeray said at a press conference that he personally screened the applications received from over 5,000 aspirants before finalising their names.

He said he wants to transform Kalyan and Dombivli like he did it in Nashik.

"Vote our party to power and see what wonders we do", he said citing the good work done in Nashik by his party.

He said that he would personally monitor the activities of his corporators in KDMC and get work done from them.

The MNS has given tickets across all sections and though majority of them are educated, there are some who are not educated.

When asked about the inclusion of uneducated people, he said "even if a few are not not educated, how does it matter. They should be able to perform. That's all,".

He said he was confident of MNS emerging as the single largest party and the new mayor of KDMC would be from his party.
