MNS chief postpones tour after daughter injured in accident

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray postponed his three-day visit to Kalyan and Dombivli after his daughter Urvashi fractured her leg in an accident near Mahalaxmi on Sunday.Urvashi underwent a surgery at Hinduja hospital, and her condition is stable.

According to the police, Urvashi was riding pillion on a two-wheeler with her friend Soumya Khandelwal.

The two were travelling towards Haji Ali from Mahalaxmi. “Soumya lost her balance and the two slipped and fell on the road. Police constables from the Tardeo police station spotted them and took them to the hospital,” said a sub-inspector from Tardeo police station.

“Urvashi’s injuries are minor. Her condition is stable and she is recovering well,” said Dr Sanjay Agarwala, Hinduja Hospital, who is treating the youngster.

Raj, who was in Ahmednagar at the time, rushed to Mumbai after hearing the news of the accident.

He has now postponed his tour to spend time with his daughter.

The MNS chief was supposed to spend the next three days in Kalyan and Dombivli, and conduct review meetings with his party leaders and workers in the wake of the debacle faced by the party in the Maharashtra assembly elections.
