MNS Sangli unit chief held for rape

President of Sangli district of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Sudhakar Dnyaneshwar Khade and his friend were arrested on Tuesday evening for rape.
Khade (32) was remanded in police custody along with Ashok Tawse, who is a member of director of a local cooperative bank. The duo is alleged to have sexually exploited a Dalit girl for almost four years.
According to the police, the woman was introduced to Khade in June 2004 in a local bank and he assured her loan. He introduced the woman to Tawse. In December 2004, the duo took the woman to a farmhouse on Miraj-Pandharpur road in a jeep, apparently to discuss her loan proposal.
According to the complaint, Khade and Tawse discussed her loan proposal on the way to the farmhouse. The two were watching a blue film in the car during the journey. The two took the woman to the farmhouse raped her.
Khade also threatened the victim with a revolver.
Khade filmed the act on his cellphone and later the two used it to blackmail her. The police have seized the revolver from Khade.
