Claiming that her life was under threat, model Lesli Tripathy on Saturday alleged that gangster Sandeep Acharya alias Raja, key accused in judo coach Biranchi Das murder case, had access to telephone inside the jail and he could manage to get information from police stations.
"I believe that some police officials were passing information to him even though he is behind bars," Lesli told reporters here in a media conference.
The model claimed she received a phone call from Raja two days ago even though he was inside the prison. "I have repeatedly said that my life is severly affected due to the gnagster. I feel threat to my life," she said though being provided with security by the police.
She too raised question on sincerity of police by stating that Raja could also manage crime even staying in the jail. She suspected that policemen were hand in gloves with him.
"Even some producers fear to give me work due to threat from Raja," she said. "No one is now-a-days talking to me freely as people fear that Raja could harm them," Lesli said.
Asked whether she was in love with the gangster at any point of time, Lesli said she met Raja at a jail in Baripada during a social reform programme three years ago.
She pointed out that Raja's sister had persuaded her several times to marry her brother. Raja, according to police, had one-sided love for Lesli which could have been one of the reasons behind Das murder. Raja could have killed Das as the judo coach asked the gangster not to harass Lesli.
