Showering effusive praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a BJP youth wing function in New Delhi, parliamentary affairs minister M Venkaiah Naidu labelled him “God’s gift to the nation”. He even drew parallels between Modi and Mahatma Gandhi in the context of the Swachh Bharat campaign.
Dismissing Congress’ demands for the resignation of external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj, Naidu called her a “national asset” and also rejected demands for the resignation of Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje and her Madhya Pradesh counterpart Shivraj Singh Chouhan, calling them “outstanding performers”.
Referring to Congress’ stalling of Parliament during the ongoing monsoon session, Naidu accused the party of being “really rattled” by the success of the Modi government.
Praising Modi, Naidu said he was “God’s gift to the nation”, under whom India had achieved successes like the Indo-Bangla land boundary accord and the Naga peace deal.
He added it was because of Modi that Australia and Canada were willing to provide Uranium for India’s nuclear reactors.
