Narendra Modi is today's Adolf Hitler, said Congress star campaigner Raj Babbar in Roorkee on Monday.
"He (Modi) is the Hitler of this era. Look at his history. He wiped out those politicians who brought him to a position where he could become chief minister of Gujarat. And he did the same thing with LK Advani, who had brought him to Delhi on a central stage of the BJP," said the actor-turned-politician, a former Congress MP from Faizabad.
"Hitler used to do the same thing with his associates, who had helped shape his career, because of the lust for power."
Babbar, who is contesting from Ghaziabad Lok Sabha seat, was addressing a rally at Ramnagar locality of Roorkee to woo Punjabi voters on the request of local MLA Pradeep Batra.
Ramnagar is thickly populated with Punjabis, considered a traditional votebank of the BJP.
"We (Punjabis) have a long history of living in harmony with Muslims and other communities. But Modi's intentions appear as if he will not tolerate Muslims in the country anymore," Babbar said.
