Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has decided not to have a junior home minister and keep the entire home portfolio with himself at present.
Modi on Tuesday distributed various portfolios earlier held by former minister of state for home Amit Shah, who has been arrested in connection with Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case.
Shah, who resigned on Saturday after being chargesheeted in Sohrabuddin encounter case, was also holding other portfolios.
While distributing the portfolios Modi did not give charge of MOS home to any of his other ministers, sources in the office of the chief minister said.
Transport portfolio which was held by Shah was given to senior minister Vaju Vala, they added.
Two other portfolios of law and parliamentary affairs were handed over to another senior minister Dilip Sanghani, they said.
While, other portfolios like prohibition, civil defence, jails, police residences, border security were given to Parbat Patel, they said.
Shah was arrested on Sunday by the CBI in fake encounter.
