BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi said Congress president Sonia Gandhi remembering the almighty as she faces almost certain defeat in the general election, must be a first for her.
“In the last 20-25 years, I haven’t ever heard of Sonia Gandhi remembering the almighty in any rally. It is for the first time that she has sought divine intervention,” Modi said on Friday at his rally in Khalilabad. “If she is constantly remembering God, you can well imagine how big a problem she is confronting.”
The comment was a retort to Gandhi’s statement of April 26, Addressing a rally in Punjab, she had said the Gujarat model of development was actually the Modi model under which common people suffered. “May god please save this country from this model,” she said.
In response, Modi asked the Congress what it had done for job creation over the last 60 years.
“The Congress government is looting the country. They have transformed this country into a scam-India. They did not leave alone land, water or air.”
In Balrampur, Modi gave a new slogan for the “saffron revolution”. “The white of the national flag gave the country the white revolution, green gave the green revolution and there is a saffron too, and the country now needs a saffron revolution”.
