Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Monday asked Congress president Sonia Gandhi not to question people's patriotism in Arunachal Pradesh's Itanagar.
Modi was addressing his second rally in the northeastern state after his spoke in Pasighat on February 22.
"When I came here I expressed sorrow at Tania's death. When Sonia came here yesterday did she say anything? Does she care?" Modi asked while raising the death of Arunachal's Nido Taniam, who was killed in New Delhi.
The Congress president was in Assam's Lakhimpur town on Sunday to address an election rally and had attacked the BJP for talking "big" and believing in the "politics of hate."
The Gujarat chief minister raked up the Italian marines issue and accused the Congress-led government at the Centre of letting them go scot-free.
"If SC had not pulled up the Italian embassy, they would have never returned," Modi said.
"Madam Sonia ji, since you have challenged our patriotism, we want to know in which jail are the two Italian marines being kept?"
"Please don't question patriotism of people. We don't need certificates from you," Modi said.
He also took a dig at Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Nabam Tuki saying there is no one to save him in Delhi and hit out at "arrogant" Congress for lack of transparency and accountability.

Later, at another rally in Assam's Biswanath Chariali Modi renewed his attacks on the Congress party as well as Sonia Gandhi.
The Gujarat CM said this is the first election where people have already decided the outcome of the polls.
"I don't think there will be any state in the country where Congress will get seats in double digits," Modi told the gathering.
He hit out at Tarun Gogoi, the chief minister of Assam, over the killing of 15 people in the state.
"The CM of Assam is willing to travel ten times to Delhi to meet Madam ji but can't meet people of his state," Modi said.
He once again talked about the ill-treatment meted out to the people of the northeast region in other parts of the country.
"For them life and death of person doesn't matter. They just want their seat of power."
"Madam Sonia says Congress fulfils its promises but what happened to its promise of reducing prices in 100 days," Modi said questioning Congress' claim of fulfilling the promises of its 2009 manifesto.
