Moily resigns as head of Administrative Reforms Commission

M Veerappa Moily has resigned as the Chairman of the Administrative Reforms Commission (ARC).The move follows Moily filing his nomination for Lok Sabha elections as a Congress candidate from Chikballapur constituency in Karnataka.A former Karnataka Chief Minister, Moily as the ARC chief was instrumental in bringing out reports on a variety of topics concerning governance as also one on terrorism.

Congress on Thursday effected a minor reshuffle in the AICC as well by making Vayalar Ravi as the party in-charge of Andhra Pradesh and K Keshava Rao as in-charge of Assam.Earlier, Moily was in charge of both these states. The charge of Moily as the chief of the AICC media department has gone to General Secretary Janardan Dwivedi.

Party sources said it was a “temporary” allocation of assignments.
