With the sixth session of the 15th Tibetan parliament in-exile beginning on Wednesday, the Tibetan lawmakers will be discussing the current critical situation prevailing in Tibet.
On the first day of the 10-day session, the parliament in-exile will pay tributes to the self-immolators and those who have sacrificed their lives for Tibet.
Penpa Tsering, speaker of the Tibetan parliament in-exile, said the annual reports of all seven departments of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) would be tabled in the house during the session.
“The annual report and recommendations of the fifth Public Accounts Committee of the Tibetan parliament in-exile will also be presented,” Tsering said, adding that there would be deliberations on the current situation in Tibet.
The Kashag (cabinet) of the Tibetan government in-exile is also likely to give statement on its various polices and clarifications if any.
Besides, a marathon discussion will be held on the activities carried out during the past 12 months and their outcomes.
Sources say the parliament will also discuss the possible ways to resume the negotiation with China. The dialogue process had come to a grinding halt three years ago after nine rounds of talks.
The session will be webcast live by the audio visual section of the CTA's department of information and international relations on tibetonline.tv. The session concludes on September 28.
