Motor vehicle inspector in ACB's net

Disproportionate assets worth over Rs 65 lakh were unearthed in a raid by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday at the office and residence of a Motor Vehicle Inspector at Suryapet in Nalgonda district, sources said.

Disproportionate assets worth over Rs 65 lakh were unearthed in a raid by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday at the office and residence of a Motor Vehicle Inspector at Suryapet in Nalgonda district, sources said.

ACB officials, who booked a case of disproportionate assets against M Suresh Babu, conducted simultaneous searches at places covering his office, residence and his relatives houses in the city unearthing assets including one 3-storied house, 15 house plots and 16.2 gunta agricultural land worth Rs 42 lakh, an ACB release in Hyderabad said.

The market value of the immovable properties would be about Rs 4 crore, the release said adding the Motor Vehicle Inspector was also found in possession of gold ornaments and silver articles besides house-hold articles worth Rs 23 lakh. The searches are in progress and the accused official would be arrested, the release said.
