Mahidpur BJP MLA Bahadur Singh Chouhan, who embarrassed his party after an audio tape, in which he claimed that he had taken bribe worth crores of rupees for his party, surfaced, has said everything was a handiwork by his Congress opponent in the elections — Dinesh Jain Bose and Mahidpur BJP mandal president Dilip Navlakha.

Other than the audio, a video showing him dancing to a raunchy number with a dancer had also come out in public.

Talking to reporters, Chouhan said that because of his efforts, a penalty of Rs 23 crores has been slapped on Bose for carrying out illegal mining and a penalty of Rs 4 crores has been slapped on Navlakha for his role in a seed purchase and distribution scam.

Chouhan said both his opponents got together, hatched a conspiracy and distorted the audio and video clips to show him in bad light. He said he had also lodged a police complaint in this regard.

On the question of dancing at a raunchy dance number, Chouhan said that it was a marriage party of his friend's son that took place on December 8. "I was not ready to dance but friends forced me to do it. In any case, I too am entitled to my private life," he said.

Chouhan said that he would be sending the material for testing to laboratories in Hyderabad and Delhi laboratories to prove that they had been tampered with.
