MUSLIMS ACROSS the State would pray for peace to the soul of Saddam Hussein and devastation for American president George Bush after Id namaz on Monday.

The decision was unanimously taken at a meeting of representatives of over a dozen organisations, held under the aegis of Jamiat-e-Ulama Madhya Pradesh here on Sunday.

In all the mosques and ‘idgaahs’ across the State, Muslims would pray for Saddam after the Namaz and send a curse for Bush, said the spokesman of Jamiat-e-Ulama Noorullah Yusuf Zai.

He told Hindustan Times that the Jamiat has asked all its district-level units to hold protests after Id-uz-Zuha and subsequently a major demonstration would be held at Bhopal. During Sunday’s meeting, a resolution was passed against the US.

The Jamiat president Mufti Abdur Razzaq has exhorted all the political parties and social organisations to support the movement against Bush. The Id celebrations would also be modest, he said.

The meeting also appealed the Centre to sever all ties with the US government. Representatives of socio-cultural organisations and political parties attended the meeting.
