The senior BJP leader and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Uma Bharati on Tuesday evening visited the private nursing home in Nagpur, where the four-year old rape victim from Madhya Pradesh was getting treatment and enquired about her health.
The girl is still unconscious and not responding to the treatment. "She is on ventilator with life support," informed the hospital sources.
After meeting the doctors, who are attending the girl, Uma Bharati insisted that the state government should set up fast track court and the alleged rapists of girl child should be hanged within 30 days.
She said that the government should relax the laid down provision and set up fast track court to settle the rape case within 15 days.
The government should also in the next 15 days bring the mercy petition and the culprit should be sent to gloves within 30 days.
"I was shocked to see the trauma of the girl child lying in a ward here. I have spoken to the Madhya Pradesh home minister just now and conveyed the feeling," she said.
She said that the condition of the girl was a matter of concern.
The doctors will go for some more tests on Wednesday to ascertain her condition eventhough she is not responding to treatment.
"I am really perturbed over such incident, may it be in Seoni or in Delhi as a sense of insecurity was prevailing among the girls, their mothers and fathers when they are travelling in bus or train," Bharati said.
The girl was shifted in an air ambulance from a government-run medical college and hospital in Jabalpur to a private super specialty hospital in Nagpur on late Saturday night.
She is still battling for life, a hospital spokesman informed.
The girl was reportedly abducted from Ghansour village and raped by a 35-year-old man on Wednesday after luring her with a chocolate.
Her parents found her lying unconscious at a farm the on Thursday morning, following which she was taken to Jabalpur for treatment. She was shifted to Nagpur on Saturday night as her condition was described as very critical.
"She is unconscious and still on life support with mechanical ventilator," doctors said.
The man, accused of raping the girl has been identified, who works at a private power company. He reportedly raped the girl on April 17 and then dumped her at a farm.
