MP?s daughter commits suicide

DAUGHTER OF Damoh Member of Parliament Chandrabhan Singh Lodhi, has committed suicide by hanging in her room in Wright Town under Madan Mahal police station here.

Though her body was found on Sunday, she is believed to have taken the extreme step some time on Saturday. Lodhi had lodged a report with the police about her missing on Sunday morning. But the body was recovered by police in the evening from the room. Police had to break open the door of the room as it was bolted from inside.

Deepika Singh (20) – a student of first year B. Com course has left behind a typed and signed suicide note saying that she has taken the extreme step as she was being harassed and blackmailed by one Deeraj Chandwani, who owned a general store and some others since a couple of days.

The note alleged that the accused threatened to kill her father if she did not pay Rs 10 lakhs. Madan Mahal police Town Inspector Suresh Mehra said the note appeared to be genuine and written by the victim.

He said that Deeraj was a class X drop out and helped his father in his shop. Deepika had  come in contact with Deeraj a year ago after he promised to help her pass one of her examination.

However, according to sources in police, Deepika had an affair with the youth and had even married her after eloping with him sometime ago. But both the families had not approved the marriage. Both the families had a dispute over the issue and Deepika had  shifted to her parents house following the dispute.

Madan Mahal police, after registering a case under section 306 of IPC against the accused have detained Deeraj father Suresh, his sister and a friend Sonu while Deeraj is absconding.
