Lokayukta sleuths dug out assets worth Rs 2 crore from the residence of a sub-divisional officer (SDO) of water resources department Chandarsingh Chadbade in Ujjain on Saturday.
Led by Lokayukta SP of Ujjain Siddharth Choudhary, the team raided the house located in Ved Nagar at 6:20am, when the family members of Chadbade were sleeping.
The Lokayukta team seized land-related documents, fixed deposit receipts and cash and jewellery worth Rs 2 crore, but the value of the property and assets have not been ascertained, as yet, sources said.
Chadbade has a bungalow, plots in Hamukheri and Triveni Vihar, insurance policy worth Rs 15 lakh, jewellery worth Rs 5 lakh, Rs 10,000 cash, a car, a scooty and eight bank pass books.
Sources further said Chadbade used to invest his black money in property and the value of Chadbade’s Vednagar bungalow is about Rs 1 crore.
Chadbade, who was transferred from Ratlam to Ujjain, is currently posted at Ghatiya tehsil of Ujjain and amassed huge wealth disproportionate to his known sources income during his 20-year service.
He would be booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act 13(1) E, 13(2) for possessing property and assets disproportionate to his known source of his income, Lokayukta SP said.
