WITH ONE game to participate in, the medal-winning run for Madhya Pradesh continues at 33rd National Games in Guwahati. On Saturday, the medal tally went up to 63. The National Games will conclude on Sunday.
The golden run for the State continued on Saturday. After winning four gold medals on Friday, the state karatekas repeated the performance. Another four gold medals won in the karate. Besides, the State also won two silver medals.
Gaurav Scindia, Paritosh Sharma, Vikas Sharma and Reena Jain won gold medals for the state. Shobha Khan and Afzal Khan won silver in karate.
Creating the history, state won 12 gold medals in the national games, which is the highest ever number of gold medals won by MP in any National Games. Madhya Pradesh won 63 medals, including 12 gold medals and 19 silvers.
Shashwat Patel won the only medal for the State in the gymnastics. This was the first time when the State won any medal in the gymnastics. Director Sports Sanjay Chaudhary, Joint Director Dr Vinod Pradhan and others congratulated state players.
