Examination section of the Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) in Vadodara has been asked to verify genuineness of the marksheets and degree certificates received from a private company.
Talking to PTI by phone, AV Gupta, Registrar of the university, said "I have asked the examination section to verify the marksheets and degree certificates' genuineness after receiving a report from Nikhil Desai, Dean of the science faculty in this regard."
Desai said that the faculty had received two marksheets and as many degree certificates from Apollo Tyres for verification purpose and the documents are suspected to be bogus.
These candidates are undergoing a training programme at the company.
It could be part of a bigger scam and after receiving report from the examination section, the university will register a police complaint, Gupta said.
