Sistema-Shyam, which offers its mobile telephony services under the brand name of MTS, on Tuesday launched its high speed data services with a downloading rate of little as 10 p/MB in three cities of Rajasthan-- Jaipur, Jodhpur and Bhiwadi.
With an introductory price ranging from Rs 198 to Rs 5,000, MTS' seamless high-speed mobile data services offers a download speed of up to 3.1 Mbps, Sistema-Shyam chief operating officer for Rajasthan circle Sandeep Yadav told a press conference in Jaipur.
Free Internet browsing to some websites like Yahoo, Wikipedia and MakemyTrip will allow MTS subscribers to stay abreast with the latest in news, sports, fashions, he said, adding subscribers will be able to shop and also browse certain educational sites for free.
The customers will now be able to use this prepaid service with rates as low as 10p/mb and there will also be no roaming surcharges while using the MTS network.
Within three months this data service will be extended to eight more cities in the state, he said, adding MTS would capture 30-40 per cent market share of broadband in the state.
