Mulayam hits out at Modi in Azamgarh
SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav didn’t mince words to call BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi the biggest “liar and fraud” he has come across in his entire life.
Even on the day of filing his nomination papers, SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, didn’t mince words to call BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi the biggest “liar and fraud” he has come across in his entire life.
Speaking at a rally after filing his papers, he asked, “What can one expect from a man who has a fetish for changing into five different kurtas in a day and has 500 kurtas stacked in his wardrobe?”
Continuing with his anti-Modi tirade, Mulayam said: “Today I am here to list out Modi-ji’s lies. And you all must give an apt reply to him. In 2003, he had promised Gujarat a metro rail project, where is it? We had promised metro for which construction work began within two years of the formation of the SP government. Modi talks about development of Gujarat. Where is that development?”
Referring to a promise outlined in the SP’s poll manifesto, he promised: “From July onwards, the entire education in UP will be made free.”
He once again said the third front that would form the next government and the SP would be its largest component.
Mulayam’s decision to contest from Azamgarh, apart from his traditional Mainpuri seat, is being viewed as a tactic to neutralise the Modi effect in eastern Uttar Pradesh.
Sitting BJP MP Ramakant Yadav also filed his nomination on Tuesday and supporters of both the leaders had a brief stand-off as well.
