Maharashtra Government expects to collect a revenue of Rs 1.52 crore from four major malls in the city which failed to submit stamp duty papers on time.
“The Government is expected to get Rs 1.52 crore, including fine, from Growel, Huma, Phoenix and R-Mall in the city,” Revenue Minister Patangrao Kadam informed the Legislative Council in a written reply on Tuesday.
Altogether 20 malls were served notices by the Government for not submitting stamp duty papers on time. Only one mall owner submitted the papers, two malls have given clarification over the delay and three have asked for extension to pay the amount, he said.
Leader of Opposition Pandurang Phundkar raised the issue and asked the Government to give details about malls which failed to submit stamp duty papers on time.
