Mumbai under siege: What citizens should do?

india Updated: Nov 28, 2008 15:05 IST

Trapped in a terror-hit city can be quite a disorienting and stressful experience. As a citizen we should do our bit to maintain order and calm so that city functions smoothly and security forces get space to function properly.

What to do in such a situation

1. Remain in your homes if you don't have any urgent work to attend to. Stay away ground zero (where operations are on)

2. Donate blood in the nearest hospital.

3. Keep conversations short to so that network lines remain clear.

4. Don't spread rumours.

5. While sharing your experience, video and photos with media houses, be very sure of your facts and act responsibly and don't indulge sensationalism.
