Two men, who allegedly evaded arrest for over a year in a robbery case being heard in court, were apprehended from west Delhi, the police said on Wednesday.
“The duo, identified as Ajay and Mahesh Kumar, were held from Kirti Nagar on Tuesday following a tip-off,” said V Renganathan, deputy commissioner of police (west).
Police said the two had robbed and killed a man, identified as Raj Kumar, in Naraina on July 8, 2009 and were absconding since. Each had a bounty of Rs25,000 on his head.
“During questioning they told us that they robbed Kumar as they wanted money to do a pilgrimage to Haridwar. We are trying to ascertain whether they have been involved in other incidents too,” Renganathan said.
