Murder accused create chaos on court premises

india Updated: Sep 24, 2006 01:35 IST

THE DRAMA enacted by a murder accused brother duo on court premises baffled the police in Wazirganj on Saturday noon.

The duo, Rustam and Sohrab, even provoked the policemen on escort duty to attack their rivals who had come to the court. The duo alleged that the rivals had made an attempt on their life while their opponents made the same complaint. Cross FIRs were lodged in the matter, while the police said the allegation by the murder accused was staged managed.

Chaos prevailed on the third floor of the court building around 3.15 pm when Rustam and Sohrab were walking back to the court lock-up after attending a hearing. Escorted by armed policemen, the duo was heading towards the staircase when they came across their rivals — Sarvar, Hasnain and four others.

The brothers started screaming that the rivals had come to attack them. The duo even provoked the armed policemen to open fire at their rivals. Rustam even tried to snatch the rifle from one of the policemen.

Taken aback by the sudden development, Hasnain and his aides started running for cover. Rustam and his brother chased the rivals out of the court.

As cops rushed to the scene, Rustam and Sohrab tried to convince them that an attack was planned on them. The cops took Hasnain and others to the police station. SHO Udairaj Singh said Hasnain and his aides were so terrified following the incident that they were sent home in police escort.
