Retired Air Force officer Surender Kumar Singh (48), who was found murdered in Swaroop Nagar in Northwest Delhi, was cremated in Gurgaon on Monday afternoon.
Singh was a resident of Sector 10. The Delhi police handed over the body to the victim's family on Monday morning.
"He was a man of discipline and very helpful. He was living in Gurgaon for the past six years. The last call he made was to a family member to pick him up from the Rajiv Chowk Metro station. After that call, his phone was not reachable," said Joginder Pal Yadav, Singh's neighbour.
Singh is survived by his wife and two sons. His elder son works in a hotel and the younger one is an engineering student. He had retired from the Air Force as a warrant officer and was working as a manager with a private firm in Himachal Pradesh.
Singh had driven to Ambala from Himachal on January 14, parked the company-owned Wagon-R at the bus depot and boarded a bus to Delhi.
