Three men were charged with robbing and killing a financial analyst in Manhattan last month, while three others were accused of going shopping with the dead man's credit cards.
The men were arrested Thursday, after police released security videotape showing three men buying clothes, gas and other items at several stores. The suspects were arraigned on Friday night.
The victim, 24-year-old Thomas Whitney Jr, was found unconscious after leaving a bar in Manhattan's Chelsea district on May 21, police said. He died later the same day.
The murder was realised when the credit card company did not receive pending payment for a long time.
The defendants, who were charged with second-degree murder and first-degree robbery, were Daryush Omar, 20; Walliullah Hashimi, 22; and Najob Noor, 19.
The three charged with criminal possession of stolen property are Abdullah Khan, 20; Salem Qurbani, 21; and Jaweed Farhadi, 24.
The district attorney's office said that Noor, Hashimi and Farhadi were born in Afghanistan, Omar in Pakistan, and Khan in Saudi Arabia. This means that they would face deportation if convicted. Qurbani is American, the district attorney's office said.
