ATHAR NABI, chairman of the National Muslim ABC, has charged that innocent Muslims were being harassed after the Mumbai serial blasts. Nabi, who has just returned from Mumbai, lamented that terrorism was being linked with Islam. “A true Muslim can never be a terrorist,” he said while addressing a press conference here on Wednesday.

Saying that the blasts proved the failure of intelligence bureau, RAW and the Maharashtra Police, Nabi also demanded an impartial inquiry into their role.  He claimed that the police in Mumbai were unduly harassing Muslim youths who were being picked up from places like Mimbra, Aurangabad, Mahim, Malad etc and detained without any evidence at various police stations. “Even water was not being provided to the youths there.
