Muzaffarnagar: 9 injured in clash between two communities over land dispute

Nine persons were injured in a clash between groups of Dalit and another community over land-related dispute at Mataali village in Shamli district in Muzaffarnagar, police said .

Nine persons were injured in a clash between Dalit groups and another community over a land-related dispute at Mataali village in Shamli district in Muzaffarnagar, police said .

The groups clashed on Wednesday when members of one community tried to prevent another from taking possession of a disputed piece of land, circle inspector Nishank Sharma said.

Both the groups used sharp-edged weapons and firearms during the clash in which nine persons were injured, he said.

On receiving information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control, Sharma said.

Six persons were arrested in connection with the case, the CO added.
