BAL BHAVAN school lost to Maharishi Vidya Mandir (MVM) by 10 wickets in the Dr Govind Narayan Singh Memorial Inter-school Cricket Tournament on Old Campion grounds here on Sunday.

Bal Bhavan was asked to bat first after MVM won the toss. In a disastrous start, it lost four wickets for 39 runs. However, skipper Rajat Pandey played sensibly and added 54 invaluable runs to the total.

After his departure, three batsmen were out in quick succession. Bal Bhavan managed to score 150 runs. Vishal Singh claimed three wickets while MVM skipper Abhishek Verma took two wickets.

Though Bal Bhavan had a bowler like Zaid Khan, it failed to dent MVM’s batting order. Abhishek, who was good with the ball, batted well too. He made an unbeaten 77 runs. Shubham, at the other end, scored his second half century.

He scored 56 runs. Such good innings helped MVM to register a 10-wicket victory.  Chief guest and State BJP leader Anil Dave presented the man of match trophy to Abhishek Verma.

BDCA chairman Dhruv Narayan Singh, organising secretary Aruneshwar Singhdeo, BDCA secretary Dr Shafquat Mohammad Khan, Sushil Singh, C S Dhakad, Uttam Thakur and others were present on the occasion.
