“OUR PARTY has begun its battle for the forthcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Our party would form the Government in Madhya Pradesh with a two-thirds majority and our fight was against Congress”, claimed national president of the Bharatiya Janshakti Party, Uma Bharti.

Talking to newspersons at Guna Circuit House this evening, she said the State BJP MLAs were not joining her party because the party did not want any threat to the State Government. She, however, refrained to comment on the exact number of such MLAs.

On whom she rated the best CM of the State among Digvijay Singh, Babulal Gaur and Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Uma said both BJP CMs had not come to the expectations of the public. She said the condition of Congress was pathetic in the State because the party had first tailed behind Babulal Gaur, and now it was doing the same with Shivraj Singh Chouhan, she remarked.

She further said she was proceeding to Rae Bareilly on May 4 to campaign against Sonia Gandhi. On a query relating to Budhni by elections, Uma Bharti said she was praying that BJP leader Pramod Mahajan recuperated soon and saw for himself how the CM he supported was now begging for votes with his family. She also ruled out any chances of Budhni elections affecting State politics.

‘I spent night in the fields’
Bharatiya Janshakti Party national president Uma Bharti last night had to spend time on roadside in a field. Talking to newspersons at Guna Circuit House this evening, she said she took this decision to spend the night out in the field near a dhaba in Shajapur district as she was feeling unwell.
