Myanmar frees four Indians

Myanmar authorities have released four Indian nationals who were arrested six months ago for entering the neighbouring country without valid documents.

Myanmar authorities have released four Indian nationals who were arrested six months ago for entering the neighbouring country without valid documents, official sources said on Monday.

They were handed over to immigration officer at Moreh border town in Manipur's Chandel district yesterday, they said.

They were identified as Lal Bahadur (36) from Uttar Pradesh, Mohd Hussain (40) from Assam, Salam Taung (35) from from Manipur and Mang Aijamang (30) from Mizoram.

All the four persons were kept in a Myanmar jail for six months, the sources said.
