MYCC pull off a thriller

MYCC AND VIJAY Club on Tuesday won their respective matches in the YC-J S Anand Adroit Trophy Twenty20 cricket tournament being played at Yeshwant Club grounds.

In the first match, Indore Colts won the toss and opt to field. In the allotted 20 overs, MYCC scored 161/7. Ishiyaq Khan scored 36 in 24 balls with seven boundaries and Ram Kumar scored 27 in 33 balls with four boundaries. Ranjeet Singh scored an unbeaten 24 in 17 balls with four boundaries.

Rajesh Kanojiya took two wickets for 19 runs in four overs. In reply, Indore Colts failed to surpass the target and fell short of just four runs. Gaurav Lashkari batted brilliantly to score 64 in 51 balls with nine hits to the fence and one over while Virendra Yadav scored 23 in 17 balls with three boundaries and one six.

In the second match, stronghold Vijay Club, who had shocked CCI on Monday, showed their class once again to beat Indore Colts by four wickets.

Indore Colts won the toss and decided to bat. In the first match, they put their opponents in to bat first after winning the toss but they lost the match.

Their batting was awful and were bundled out merely for 102. Gaurav Lashkari scored a brisk 38 in 24 balls with four boundaries and two huge sixes while Rahul Khandelwal scored 24 in 27 balls with two boundaries.

Narendra Godaria, Amol Kukje, Amit and Mayank Jain captured two wickets each. Chasing a low target of 103, Vijay Club batsmen scored the required runs losing four wickets to win the match by six wickets.

Narendra Godaria scored 35 in 22 balls with eight boundaries while Jitendra Likhar smashed 33 in mere 19 balls with a huge six and six boundaries. Bhushan Verma and Virendra Yadav took two wickets each for 20 and 34 runs.
