Mystery continues to shroud the gruesome murder of seven-year-old Sahil Kumar of Khandwal village as the police are yet to establish the motive behind the killing.

Sahil's body was found on Tuesday in Chatha area, about 5 km from his residence on the outskirts of Jammu city.

Sahil, alias Pinky, a student of class 2, was allegedly kidnapped on Monday afternoon following which his family lodged a complaint at the local police station.

No reason or motive has been established behind kidnapping and torturing the minor so far. No arrest has been made by the police either. There were deep wounds marks on the victim's body.

His body was found in a mutilated condition in the fields.

Rahul Malik, SP City(South), said, "We have got some leads in the case but they are not comprehensive and are yet to be verified. Right now, we cannot say what exactly might have been the motive behind the murder."

"We have rounded up one person on the basis if suspicion. We are also questioning the victim's family," he said.

"The board of doctors constituted by the local administration today conducted the post-mortem on the body and the report is expected in the next few days," he added.
