Nach Baliye 2 goes on air on September 25. Last year’s hosts Shabbir Ahluwalia and Sangita Ghosh will recreate the magic, but with a twist this time. Star One has roped in the nine jodis of last year to host some individual episodes.
And so Supriya and Sachin Pilgaonkar, Poonam Narula and Manish Goel, Shilpa and Apurva Agnihotri, Delnaazz and Rajev Paul, Neeru Bajwa and Amit Sadh, Maaninee and Mihir Mishra, Manasi and Rohit Roy, Rajeshwari and Varun Badola will be seen hosting the different episodes.
The one couple that is missing is Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi because they’re hosting the rival show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa on Sony. Says Sachin, “Supriya and I are going to open the show. We’ll perform and we’ll also introduce the 10 couples in the second season. We are yet to see the script and find out how the channel wants to go about it. But we are definitely looking forward to it as Nach Baliye brings back fond memories.”
Behind the scenes
NachBaliye 2 will be telecast on Fridays, Mondays and Tuesdays from September 25.
The Friday episodes will be reality shows with all the behind-the-scenes drama and gossip telecast at 8 pm.
The Monday episodes, aired at 8.30 pm, will see the couples perform before a jury consisting of Saroj Khan, Malaika Arora Khan and Kunal Kohli.
The couple with the lowest score will be dropped.
A wild card entry will be allowed in which the first five couples to be voted out are given a chance to re-enter
Manasi Joshi and Rohit Roy, the first couple to be voted out of the show last year, too are ecstatic to be part of this year’s show.
Says Manasi, “Last year, we were on the stage, this time it’s others. Considering we have been there, done that, we perfectly understand the new contestants emotions, anxieties and joys. When we participated, we didn’t know what it was and how it would be accepted by the audience but the current lot could actually avoid making the same mistakes.”
Rajeshwari Sachdev and Varun Badola were last year’s top contenders, They lost out on top honours only when Badola missed a couple of steps in the penultimate round. Says Rajeshwari, “Varun and I have definitely planned something nice but then we will go with whatever the channel tells us to do.
Given a choice, I would go back on that stage anytime to dance.” And so the second season definitely promises a lot. Else there’s always the involvement of the earlier participants that might recreate last time’s magic in a small way, by hosting the show this year.
