Raja Acharya, prime accused in the murder of Biranchi Das, coach of child marathon runner Budhia, will be subjected to narco-analysis test after he is brought to Bhubaneswar from Goa, where he was arrested after a month-long search by Orissa police.
"We will put him under narco analysis test as the police received indications that Raja may falsely take name of some important personalities during interrogation", city police Commissioner Binay Behera told reporters here last night.
Behera said a police team would visit Goa to bring back Raja. The Goa police recorded the statement of the gangster after his arrest at Panaji yesterday.
"The same police team which brought his associate Chagala from Bhopal, will go to Goa," he said, adding that Raja, who is likely to be brought here tomorrow, was arrested on the basis of information given by Orissa police.
Earlier, the gangster's co-accused Chagala had taken name of senior IAS officer Priyabrat Patnaik who was interrogated and thereafter stripped of all official responsibilities by the government.
Police said that Patnaik himself confessed that he had met Raja Acharya on March 16, nearly a month before Das was shot dead here on April 13.
